Pillar of Hope Community Development Corporation (POHCDC) is a not-for-profit Alabama corporation organized exclusively for charitable, educational and religious purposes within the meaning of the IRS Code 501C3 to serve the community and surrounding areas.
The mission of POHCDC is to serve the community through outreach, education and empowerment activities designed to uplift the standard of living of the constituents we serve. The CDC supports its mission through a vast array of services to the families in the underserved Tarrant Community and surrounding communities.

The Community Food Bank is a certified food distribution center for the Food Bank of Central Alabama. The food bank is operated by the members of Pillar of Hope Christian Church along with volunteers from the Tarrant Community. The food bank distributes free food to any person in need. The food bank is usually open twice per month and any other times when residents are in need.
POHCDC operates and manages a plot of land designated to grow fresh fruit and vegetables to provide to a diverse community in a food desert. The Community farm consists of 30 outdoor beds and a 20ft by 50ft high wind tunnel greenhouse to grow vegetation year-round.
POHCDC seeks to provide enrichment activities for school-age neighborhood youth. Cultural Arts Programs such as a community choir, music training and dance classes are provided as funds are available.
